The Bremen Chamber of Commerce – IHK for Bremen and Bremerhaven is a designer, source of ideas and driving force for the state of Bremen, the north-west metropolitan region and the people who work here. It stands for a high level of economic and social commitment. All businesses in Bremen and Bremerhaven are members of the Chamber of Commerce. These approximately 53,000 companies regularly elect their industry representatives to the "Plenum", which, as the highest chamber committee, forms the democratic representation of interests.
